One of the CADIA Accelerator DEI Certification Program's capstone teams has developed a guide of simple acts anyone can do each day to be a more inclusive leader, a better ally, a better success partner. This tool can be used to help the average person make incremental improvements related to DE&I. Join the conversation and leave the session with a toolkit that can be used by ERGs, for lunch and learns, and for team development and team building.

Where do we start? First, we define what a success partner is referencing Minda Harts definition in her book The Memo; reimagining what a mentor, sponsor, or ally is in today’s terms as well as ways people can become their own best advocate.

Then, we will provide actions people can take to start their journey. One example is taking an unconscious bias quiz or reading the book Subtle Acts of Exclusion by Tiffany Jana and Michael Baran. From there, we can provide some activities people can start doing to move from unconscious incompetence to conscious incompetence to conscious competence to unconscious competence.

We will use frameworks and advice shared in The Memo and Subtle Acts of Exclusions. We will interview people we think are meaningful success partners in our lives and serve up key themes and approaches from these conversations. We will also use techniques and methodologies listed in Atomic Habits by James Clear to help people create new DE&I habits.

CADIA Connects is a no-cost offering from the Center for Automotive Diversity, Inclusion & Advancement. This hour-long Zoom meeting is an avenue for professionals to stay connected and find common ground.
